On Mondays this month, I’ve joined up with some other women to write about Maintaining Your High Maintenance Marriage. We started with Communication, then discussed the importance of Serving and Laughing, and next week for a grand finale, we’re going to talk about sex.
(Gulp.)
(I’m already red-faced and hyper-ventilating just thinking about it.)
(And I’ll be seeing some of you face-to-face at church on Sunday, and now there’s this whole “she’s-writing-about-sex” thing looming like a white elephant.)
(It’s almost like your wedding reception, when you know what’s happening later, and everyone else knows what’s happening later, and good grief just stop looking at me.)
(Ahem.)
But you know, it’s a huge part of marriage. Or at least it should be. And I think oftentimes it’s easy for wives to forget how important it is, why it’s important, and what God intended sex in marriage to represent.
And truthfully, it’s hard for wives to grasp that God wants them to wholly embrace who He created them to be — and yes, that includes being sensuous.
So to whet your appetite for next Monday’s post, I’m hosting a giveaway!
The winner will receive a copy of this amazing book, Intimate Issues: Twenty-One Questions Christian Women Ask About Sex by Linda Dillow and Lorraine Pintus. Here’s the book description:
“Intimate Issues answers the twenty-one questions about sex most frequently asked by Christian wives, as determined by a nationwide poll of over one thousand women. Written from the perspective of two mature Christian wives and Bible teachers–women who you’ll come to know as teachers and friends–Intimate Issues is biblical and informative: sometimes humorous, other times practical, but always honest. Through its solid teaching warm testimonials, scriptural insights, and experts’ advise, you’ll find resolution for your questions and fears, surprising insights about God’s perspective on sex, and a variety of practical and creative ideas for enhancing your physical relationship with the husband you love.”
I know. So good, right??
You can enter to win one of two ways (or both):
1. Leave a comment (include your name and email when you sign in) telling me on a scale of one to ten, how embarrassed you are to even leave a comment on a blog post about rhymes-with-tex (‘cuz I’m at 11 just writing it)
(and) (or)
2. Become an Elevate Ideas blog subscriber by “following” (if you’re a WordPress blogger) or signing up via email (top of the right-hand column)
That’s it! The drawing will be open through Friday, February 22 at midnight. Winners will be selected using random.org and email you directly to let you know you’ve won and get your contact information.
Be sure to come back on Monday for the final post in this series, and make sure to check out these other great contributors, too!
Happy Tuesday!
